Photo Project

For my Advanced Visual Media class we had to have a photography slideshow on our website. So, this is attempt numero 1 to be a "photographer". Here's a few of the pictures? How'd it turn out?

I'm ENGAGED!!

To Jeffrey Wilkins if you couldn't tell by my last posts :)

So here is how it all came to pass for those who might be confused! Jeff and I have been unofficially dating for almost a year now. Officially: about 9 months that's taking out the "breaks" we've taken. Anyway, not too long before we came to this current relationship status, we were on one of those breaks. We thought we were at the point in our relationship where we needed to make a decision. To marry or not to Marry? We both loved each other that was definitely not the problem. The problem was. Marriage is a BIG DEAL! And we were scared and unsure. So we decided to take a break, date around and see what happened. That only lasted 3 weeks ha ha and at that point after prayers and tears and answers we both knew that we wanted each other, forever and ever! So We decided well we know we want to get married... WHY WAIT? We already know each other so well! So, Jeff made the Skype! phone call to my dad! We went ring shopping and I found one I LOVED! Anyway we decided to keep looking around and made plans to go later that week.

On Wednesday, Jeff's sister Jenna (an awesome photographer) called me. She told me that she was trying to enter a photography contest and wanted to take pictures of Jeff and I. She said, "I've already asked Jeff and he doesn't want to do it so will you try to convince him? I told her, "Oh don't worry we'll do it!" So we scheduled to meet in between my classes the next day. I got all dressed up and We headed out!!

Here is where the pictures come in!

So Jenna was telling us to pose and I'm making Jeff smile because I think he doesn't want to be out there!

Then she took us took another spot that had a bunch of scrap metal to play with it was really fun ha ha

So after we finished playing with the scrap metal Jenna told Jeff to get down on one knee and Jeff acted like he didn't want to but got down anyway and I just started posing right away. I thought it was a cute idea!

I couldn't take it seriously! ha ha Finally Jenna was like Annie c'mon take it seriously so I said okay, I took a deep breath and turned toward Jeff and as I did...

He asked me if I would marry him! He caught me completely off guard (we were supposed to go ring shopping that afternoon) The biggest surprise! I honestly had no idea!

I said, "OH MY GOSH!" about 100 times before I actually answered him!

I love this picture because I am admiring this beautiful ring and if you look at Jeff he is admiring me. He makes me feel so special :)

We're getting married September 4, 2010 in the LDS Sacramento Temple!

I am so happy to have found my forever love!

The Beautiful Brides

Marriage

Marriage is surrounding me. My friends are almost all married. It's kind of strange actually. It all changes so fast up here in Mormon Land. One minute you're 18 and crazy and you and your friends annoy everyone around you and the next you're 21 and all the friends that you shared those crazy loud moments with are now off with their forevers. It's almost depressing but not. I can't help but be completely happy for them. It's not everyday you find someone that you feel like you could spend forever with. That's a long time. Just like Christopher Robbins told Winnie, "Forever and ever, is a very long time Pooh." (I love The Great Adventures of Winnie the Pooh).

I however, have not found my forever. They are out there somewhere and maybe someday soon I will be able to turn in my roommates for one awesome one. Still love you guys! Anyway, pictures from the weddings to come. :)

Choose to enjoy

I watched a video that my friend Annalisa suggested to me and it was beautiful. It had some amazing things to say. Here are my favorites.

Back to School, back to school.

To prove to Dad I'm not a fool :)

This first little bit of school has been great. I absolutely love that I am done with my generals and that I can move on to my Communications classes! This semester I am taking: Advertising Practices and Principles, Interpersonal Communications, Spanish 201, Advanced Visual Media and World Religions. I love these classes!

Advertising Practices and Principles: This class is a bit dull at the moment as we are on the principles section and we haven't gotten to the actual practicing part. We will have the opportunity in this class to work on a campaign for a local business owner and present to them at the end of the semester! That is the part that I am excited for :)

Interpersonal Communications: This class should be pretty interesting and my teacher seems pretty cool! I'm not quite sure what to expect of it! Hopefully its one for the books.

Spanish 201: My teacher is INSANE. On the first day of class he made a joke about prostitutes and the other day in class he said, "Today we're going to learn so much that you'll have to take a dump just to be able to fit in more knowledge." Gross, but very funny! Anyway, This is a conversation based class. Now that we have learned most of the basics of grammar we are trying to put it into words ;)

Advanced Visual Media: I am SO excited for this class! We will have a few projects to help us with designing. I get to learn DREAMWEAVER! so so so excited! This will definitely help me with whatever I end up wanting to do as a career in the future.

World Religions: I am excited for this class but I wish my teacher would have a better attention span. We are currently learning about Hinduism and then we'll move on to more of the Eastern Religions! It's amazing the places that you can find the light of Christ! SO many Religions are just shining so bright with goodness and I'm so excited to be able to learn more about them. I truly feel that this will be such a great strength for me at this time.

Anyway! Hopefully I will have some fun stories this semester! I think it's gonna be a good one!

AUDREY HEPBURN

Ever since I was in young one of my many obsessions in life has been Audrey Hepburn. She is beautiful on the inside and the outside. Except for maybe her lungs. I still remember my first Audrey Hepburn movie. It was Funny Face. It was a magnificent movie with magnificent actors and a magnificent storyline and message. To this day it is on my top comfort movies list. There is something about Audrey Hepburn that makes me happy.

ANTHROPOLGY

I love the study of other cultures. I love to know why people are the way they are and do what they do. I love learning about how their view of beauty, of knowledge, what their values are. Why some places are developed and other aren't. I love learning about how other people live.

I love the store Anthropologie. It is, to me, like fresh air off a mountain top; like seeing your one true love for the first time. You walk in to a store that is so uniquely decorated, that has a fresh, clean atmosphere, and then you see the clothing, the bedding, the kitchenware, the shoes and your heart drops. This store is not only a store. It is an art gallery. Then it whispers to you to, "look around,", "come experience anthropologie," and you do and you love it. Anthropologie has its downfall though. It makes you everything in the store and once you look at the price tag you realize you really are in a dream and that these beautiful things will have to stay in the store but it was a wonderful experience." Then you have to leave. How can you live without it? Well Good news, their website is beautiful and creative too. Just like the store.

OVALTINE

Ovaltine is a delicious chocolate milk mix. Mmmm is it delicious. I could drink Ovaltine all day everyday. There is something about it that is just soo good. When you mix in just the right amount in with your full glass of milk and it turns that rich chocolaty color it makes your mouth water. Some of you may recognize Ovaltine from the popular Christmas Movie, The Christmas Story. In this movie Ralph wants to unlock the secret of Little Orphan Annie so Ovaltine sends him a decoder that reveals the message, "Be sure to Drink your Ovaltine." Ha Ha So funny. Anyway, I love Ovaltine... More ovaltine please!

Hangnails and Personal Issues

There is a hangnail on my right pointer finger. It's snagging in my hair on my clothes and is very irritating. The hangnail is actually really easy to get rid of. All I would have to do is get some clippers and clip it off. But I'm hanging on to it, I have no idea why. Why would I want to keep something that is tugging on my skin and becoming a nuisence and distraction? How did it get there is the first place?
It got there because I ignored my nail. I was rough on my fingers and didn't give them the proper moisturizing, trimming, and love.
As I was complaining to my roommates about my hangnail I the answer I received was, "Sounds like a personal issue to me."
It's true! How many times have I created a problem for myself and instead of taking care of it or clipping it off have I complained? Too many times.
So I will leave you with this. Tar care of you hangnails and your personal issues. And move on. Then prevent them from happening again. It's not worth the worry and whining. :) I'm going to go clip off my hangnail now.
